One of the less common visited national parks in the north of Thailand. The landscape with strange rock formations looks like it is from outer space. Once the stronghold area of the armed insurgents of the Thai communist party. Nowadays a beautiful cool area in the mountains. Temperatures usually varies around 15 degrees Celsius but can drop below 10 degrees Celsius. Some wooden buildings used by the communists are now museum for visitors. The park can be reached from the city of Phitsanulok. Because of the remote location of the park in the northern Isaan region of Thailand it is mainly visited by Thai people. This makes a visit to this park a unique and authentic experience.
Nice pictures on Flickr.
Some buildings and barracks of the communists insurgents are still there in Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park.
